Best gift to buy for your aupair’s birthday

You’re aupair is doing a great job and once every year you get to show your appreciation by getting her something special for her birthday. You don’t need to spend too much money or do something that is off your limits but somehow you need to show her that you respect her. So here are a couple of tips to help you celebrate better her birthday:

1)First of all you need to know when her birthday is and you need to plan everything so you won’t leave everything by the last minute.

2)Get your children involved. Tell them about your plan and ask them to make a drawing for her or an art project so that they can share their emotions and feelings they have for your aupair. And if your children are too young, then its best to send some flowers from your children with a note about how much you appreciate her.

3)As far as gifts, you need to buy something that is right and useful for her. The general idea is that people like money, so the first thing you might want to do is give her money. Some families can give a big cash reward, but others keep the price range between $50 and $100. Another thing you can do is give her a paid day off. This doesn’t affect your budget and she can do whatever she wants during that day.

Also think about the possibility of paying for an exclusive spa treatment. Or maybe you know a friend that is a massage therapist and you can set an appointment for her. Another thing you can give her is a gift card from a local grocery store or a gift card for a restaurant. Listen to her and know what she might need. If she complains that she has some problems with her dishwasher at home, and you have the money, the buy her a new one. Or if she says that she gets to work very hard then buy her a buss pass for a year.

The bottom line is that you don’t have to buy something extravagant. You just need to find something that is useful and that she will appreciate it.

Teaching your children how to save money

It is very important for parents to be able to teach their children how to save money. As we live in a society of consumerism, the sooner children are taught to handle money, the more prepared they’ll be to face the world.

The basic thing that you have to do is to make saving money fun. Try to explain them the concept in a way that they can easily understand it. Also, using different jars and stickers will attract their attention and will enable them to pay attention to what you want to do.

Set a goal. Ask your children what they want to do with the money and put a photo of that certain thing in the envelope or in the jar where their money is. In this way, with each allowance, they will feel closer and closer to their goal. If they spend a certain amount of time without spending anything, give them a little reward to know that they’re on a good path.

Last, but not least, you should set an example. Allow them to see that you’re also saving money, by putting money in that jar and telling them that it’s your jar. This will show them that it’s a normal thing to do, and they will definitely follow your lead.
